What does it mean to be a good father?

As Father’s Day approaches, kids (and their moms) spend a lot of energy arranging special dinners, getting tickets to sporting events, or deciding which tie to pick up for dad. Showing gratitude and honor to dad is a beautiful, meaningful thing. As a father of six children, Father’s Day is certainly meaningful to me. Since having our first son more than 20 years ago, the hoopla of the day has prompted me to reflect on what kind of father I am? What is the real purpose of being a father and what about the people who don’t have a proper father figure to look up to, what do they do? Continue reading
